DDC bi-annual conference was held in Mongar from 10th-13th November,2011.

August 2011:

DDC Releases Nine New Books and Digital Dictionaries on CD

On 19th August 2011, the DDC released nine new books:

 

DDC Recieves Laptop Computers from Arirang Enc


Mr. Yoon, Byung-Tae Chairman, Dasho Sherub Gyaltshen, Secretary DDC and Mr.Yong-Ho Han, President of Arirang Enc.

 

On 17th August 2011, Mr. Yoon, Byung-Tae Chairman and Mr. Yong-Ho, Han, President, of Arirang Electric Construction Co., Seol, Korea, apresented 14 new Samsung laptop computers to the DDC for use in Commission's work and for prompting Dzongkha IT.

June 2011: DDC releases its Progress Report

The DDC recently released its progress report for the past year (July 2010- June 2011). This is the report that has been submitted to the Lhengye Zhungtshog. It contains a brief report of all our achievements over the past year.PDF file

Distribution of English-Dzongkha Pocket Dictionaries funded by Honda Bhutan

On 11th April 2011, one thousand five hundred copies of our English-Dzongkha pocket dictionaries, printed with funding from Handa Rotary Club were distributed to students of Bajothang & Punakha Higher Secondary School by Masaharu IDO, representative of Handa-Bhutan Youth Friendship Association. Lyonpo Minjur Dorji at the release of the Chöké-Dzongkha Dictionary

 
Release of Dzongkha Dictionary & a video on the Basis of Gross National Happiness

On April 4th the Hon. Home Minister, Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, released the DDC's new Chöké Dzongkha Dictionary and a short video on the Basis of GNH in a ceremony held at the National Library of Bhutan.

February, 2011: Release of Dzongkha Pocket Dictionary & Grammar Books


Mr. Henrik Nielsen, Representative of Denmark, and Dasho Sherub Gyaltshen, Secretary DDC

 

An English-Dzongkha Pocket Dictionary and three Dazhung grammar books were released by the Queen Mother Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck on 22 February 2011 at Kelki Higher Secondary School on the occasion of the 31st birth anniversary of His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

The first printing of the English-Dzongkha Pocket Dictionary was made with the generous assistance of the Liaison Office of Denmark enabling us to provide a free copy to class VIII-XII students in the country.
